Hallo!, ¡Hola! Welcome to another exciting school year. This is my thirteenth year in the district and I look forward to a successful year of language learning with all my students!
B.S. Florida State University in Government and Spanish
M.A. Tulane University in Latin American Studies
Teacher Certification in Spanish and German, Concordia University of Wisconsin
I have lived abroad in Japan, Colombia, and Germany, as well as traveled extensively worldwide. I believe these life experiences greatly enrich my world languages teaching.
World Languages and Cultures is an elective quarter class for 6th graders. It introduces students to the languages and cultures of Germany, Mexico and China. This class may help students decide upon a language for further study.
Spanish 7 and German 7 are semester electives for 7th graders. These classes introduce students to basic vocabulary and grammar through practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing. They are prerequisites for Spanish 1 and German 1, which will prepare students for Level II in 9th grade.
German 1 is a year-long class for 8th graders who have completed German 7. It focuses on vocabulary building and on more complex grammatical structures of the language. Through continued practice in interpersonal, presentational, and interpretive forms of communication in German, students will be prepared to continue with German II in 9th grade.
